Drew Desilet (Wauna La-Mon'tay) was elected as the new Section Chief to replace Phillip Hunker who replaced Andrew Speer who replaced Paul Kelley who served as interim when Cameron Mulder was elected to the Western Region Chief position. The Conclave featured a large interactive video production that took over three months to produce. Titled "The Quest for the Beaver," it was a spoof of "Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail." It featured landscapes and scenes from all over Oregon and Washington states. This Conclave also featured the largest auction ever in Section W1-A.
2001
- Conclave Location: Umpqua Community College (Roseburg, OR)
- Section Chief: Drew Desilet (Wauna La-Mon'tay)
The first Conclave of the new millenium, held at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, was a huge success! Section Chief Drew Desilet, worked hard with the COC for months to plan the biggest Conclave Section W-1A and Area 1 has ever seen! Bouncy Boxing, Pool parties, Pow-wows, and the largest patch auction ever were some of the highlights of the event. The first Section-wide Brotherhood Ceremony was performed by the Brotherhood team that won the Ceremonies Competition earlier in the day. The patch was a hexagonal shape featuring a Northwest Coast style beaver. There were four different versions of the patch. It was concluded that UCC was an excellent site and that W-1A would surely be returning there again sometime soon. Bryan Ing (Tsisqan) was elected Section Chief to replace Drew Desilet.
2002
- Conclave Location: Umpqua Community College, (Roseburg, OR)
- Section Chief: Bryan Ing (Tsisqan)
- Arrows of Honor Presented: Eddie O'Donnell (Tsisqan) & Dan Hunker (Wauna La-Mon'tay)
Conclave returned to Umpqua Community College in 2002 for Section W-1A's 50th Anniversary with a record-setting attendance of 509 participants. Rob Rosamond, as Training CVC, successfully implemented the Section's first "University" style training system, which allows participants to receive degrees in different "colleges" within "Ktemaque University." Each degree earned gives a new K.U. round patch with a different border color. Arrows of Honor were presented to Dan Hunker (Wauna La-Mon'tay) and Eddie O'Donnell (Tsisqan). Rob Rosamond (Wauna La-Mon'tay) was elected Section Chief to replace Bryan Ing.
The summer of 2002 was also highlighted by the National Order of the Arrow Conference at Indiana University. While at the conference Cameron Mulder (Tsisqan) was recognized for his distinguished service to the Order of the Arrow with the National Disitinguished Service Award (DSA). Cameron was one of 38 arrowmen recognized with the DSA for the 2001-2002 biennium.
2003
- Conclave Location: Umpqua Community College, (Roseburg, OR)
- Section Chief: Rob Rosamond (Wauna La-Mon'tay)
- Arrows of Honor Presented: Rob Rosamond (Wauna La-Mon'tay) & Paul Collett (Wauna La-Mon'tay)
Conclave 2003 was a great event! There were 487 Scouts and Scouters from all over western Oregon, southern Washington, and northern California, including over 40 out of section guests, even the Western Region Chief, Matt Griffis. Although it was the third year at Umpqua Community College, the weekend was filled with plenty of new, exciting activities and happenings.
The weekend started out with a hilarious Friday night show, modelled after NBC's Saturday Night Live. Saturday morning was filled with 40 different training classes, ranging from "GPS Orienteering" to "Growing as a Lodge Officer," taught by Scouts from all over the Western Region. It was the second year for the section's Ktemaque University, which awarded 355 different degrees this year. Saturday Afternoon contained fun new activities like a 25 foot climbing wall, Human Foosball, Bowling, a hawk and knife throw, and the "Tiki Room" with plenty of free stuff being given away all day by Activities CVC Chris Allen (Wauna La-Mon'tay). Of course, activities from previous years still took place, like swimming in the huge UCC pool. A live band played throughout the day over the airwaves of KW1A Radio on 97.1 FM. Over 130 new members were treated with free pop and special program at the VIA (Very Important Arrowman) Luncheon. The Native American Events Committee hosted a pow wow and free fry bread, as well as plenty of free crafts - like loom beading - in the Tipi Village.
At the Saturday Evening show, Rob Rosamond and Paul Collett were presented with the Section's highest award - the Arrow of Honor. Mac Wilkins, Olympic Gold Medalist, spoke to our theme of "Is it in you?" and we finished the night off with a brotherhood callout of 17 Ordeal members. Friday night's Oral Auction sold over 600 items - including the first ever chenille patch - and was better than ever. The youth auction also continues to grow strong.
Sunday morning, a quick Weekend Wrap-Up video gave the weekend a nice finish, followed by the Section Business Meeting and Elections. Rob Rosamond (Wauna La-Mon'tay) was re-elected as Chief, aided by his new Vice Chief, Evan Gross (Lo La'Qam Geela), and Secretary Brandon Webber (Tsisqan).

by the Promotions/Communications Committee. The program kicked off with the Chapter
